The number of electric cars has increased significantly in recent years. More and more car brands are investing in electric cars, and there are even a number of car brands that only want to sell electric cars in a few years. For example, Volvo only wants to offer fully electric cars from 2030. Below you can read more about the future of a number of car brands.

Volvo

Volvo 's goal is to become the leader in electric cars. And that is moving in the right direction, because today there are already 1 in 5 hybrid cars of the car brand on the road. They were also the first to say that Volvo wants to make the step to fully electric from 2030. And preferably earlier if possible. Volvo wants to reduce its ecological footprint.

Ford

While many car brands already had electric cars in their range, Ford lagged behind. Yet, after a long time, they have finally launched their first electric car: the Ford Mustang Mach E. This will also not be the only electric car from Ford . The American car brand wants to only produce electric cars by 2030. They are paying no less than 18 billion euros for this.

Jaguar Land Rover

Jaguar Land Rover, JLR, wants to produce only electric cars from 2025. They set aside a budget of 2.9 billion euros per year for this. However, they do not yet have many electric cars in their range. Jaguar has an electric car, the Jaguar I-Pace . Land Rover does not yet have a plug-in car, but this will most likely change in 2024.

Kia

The car brand Kia also has big plans when it comes to plug-in cars. The Kia e-Niro has been on the road for a while and has even been voted the most popular electric car of 2021. This is because it is a relatively cheap car to purchase. In addition, Kia is launching even more electric cars, including the Kia EV6. The car brand also wants to convert 5 existing models with a fuel engine with an electric motor.

Volkswagen

Like many other car brands, Volkswagen also wants to drive fully electric from 2030. In two years' time they want to make a million electric cars per year and in the next two years they want to make one and a half million. The German car brand therefore wants to make significant progress. Moreover, we have been able to preview electric Volkswagens for a while now, because we often see the Volkswagen e-Golf, the ID.3 and the ID.4 passing by on the road.

The benefits of electric leasing

The car world is being completely turned upside down and in a few years it will really be serious: fuel cars will be replaced by electric cars. It is therefore wise to get ahead of the curve and lease an electric car. Moreover, this has many advantages, because you do not have to pay BPM or road tax, among other things. In addition, the additional tax is lower and you do not have to pay for a car all at once. This is especially nice with an electric car, because these are still expensive to purchase nowadays.
